Mockup screenshots from a 3DS version of Mega Man Mania. For those unfamiliar with MMM, Capcom planned to release a compilation of the Game Boy Mega Man titles for GBA around the same time as the PS2/GameCube Mega Man Anniversary Collection (even using the same boxart) but quietly cancelled the project.
In a post on the Mega Man Network, “Heat Man” argues in favor of a renewal of that project as a fully remade 3DS version, accompanied by this art of an imagined 3DS Mega Man Mania by Jason Howell.
“All in all, this would be an easy to develop, powered up game collection which would look great on the handheld market,” Heat Man says, calling out the most convincing argument in favor of such a collection (relative cheapness).
He adds, “There are many players who miss the Game Boy games, and many more who have yet to really experience them at all. “
